What happens if I stop qualifying for the working parent hours?
If your child has already started using the working parent entitlement, a grace period can allow the funded place to continue temporarily after your circumstances change. The end date is shown through the childcare account and can also be confirmed by the provider.
What additional support is available if my child has SEND?
Kirklees operates a SEND Inclusion Fund (SENDIF) for eligible children needing additional support in early years provision. For 2026 to 2027, the council maintained a SENDIF budget of just over £3 million, while eligible children receiving Disability Living Allowance can also attract £975 a year in Disability Access Fund for their provider.
